ABOUT FOUNDER
Mr. Amalendu Chowdhury, the visionary founder of ALOR SHIKHA, has made a significant and lasting contribution to the education and training sector in West Bengal. Born in 1978 in the Howrah district, his early life was shaped by challenges that strengthened his commitment to learning and social upliftment. He completed his Master’s degree from Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) and gained diverse professional experience before discovering his true vocation in teaching and training. What began as a modest tuition and training center gradually evolved into a comprehensive educational institution.
Driven by dedication and perseverance, Mr. Chowdhury formally established ALOR SHIKHA in 2014. Despite persistent financial challenges, he remained steadfast in his resolve to build the institution without reliance on external donations. With unwavering support from well-wishers, particularly Ms. Latika Santra and Ms. Malati Santra, he successfully expanded the institution while fulfilling his family responsibilities. Over the years, ALOR SHIKHA has earned a distinguished reputation for academic excellence, discipline, and innovation.
Mr. Chowdhury is also a prolific author, having written extensively on Microfinance, Micro-insurance, Financial Literacy, as well as Bengali literature. His lifelong commitment to education, training, and selfless service has earned him widespread respect within academic and professional training circles. Today, ALOR SHIKHA stands as a symbol of excellence, continuing to shape future generations while upholding the values and vision of its founder. His life and work remain a source of inspiration, exemplifying how determination and perseverance can overcome adversity.
